Watermelon Soda is the quintessential summer thirst-quencher, combining the refreshing taste of watermelon with a bubbly twist. Imagine sipping on a fizzy, fruity drink while lounging by the pool or at a picnic with friends.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (seedless is best)
1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
2 cups sparkling water or club soda
1-2 tablespoons agave nectar or honey (adjust based on sweetness preference)
Lime wedges (for garnish)
Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
Begin by preparing the watermelon juice. Place the watermelon cubes in a blender and blend until smooth. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
Strain the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl to remove the pulp. You'll want about 3 cups of watermelon juice.
Mix the watermelon juice with the freshly squeezed lime juice in a large pitcher. Stir until fully combined.
In a separate glass or bowl, combine the sparkling water with agave nectar or honey, stirring gently to avoid losing carbonation.
Pour the sparkling mixture into the watermelon juice, stirring gently to combine.
Serve immediately over ice and garnish with lime wedges and fresh mint leaves.
