A unique creation that combines the fizzy sweetness of Coca Cola with a moist chocolate cake.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup Coca Cola (regular)
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
1/3 cup Coca Cola (for frosting)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix together the Coca Cola, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with Coca Cola, mixing until smooth.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the homemade Coca Cola frosting evenly over the top.
