1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
If desired, dust with powdered sugar or sprinkle with chopped nuts before serving.
