Indulging in a plate of Creamy Mushroom Chicken is an experience that transcends the ordinary dinner routine. This dish artfully combines tender, juicy chicken with the rich, earthy flavors of sautéed mushrooms, all enveloped in a luscious, savory cream sauce.
8 ounces fresh mushrooms (such as cremini or button), sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet. Allow to simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream, dried thyme, and Italian seasoning. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let it simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
