This dish brings together the rich, tangy taste of balsamic vinegar with tender and juicy flank steak, resulting in a meal that’s perfect for any occasion. Flank steak is a versatile cut of meat that absorbs marinades beautifully, and this balsamic vinegar marinade elevates the flavor profile to a whole new level.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1.5 pounds flank steak
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Balsamic glaze (optional)
Vegetables of your choice (optional)
Crumbled feta cheese (optional)
Grilled corn on the cob (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 450°F or 232°C).
Remove the flank steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and serve with grilled vegetables or over a fresh salad, drizzled with balsamic glaze.
