A dish that not only tantalizes the taste buds but also showcases the versatility and depth of Italian cuisine. The combination of succulent chicken and the tangy richness of balsamic vinegar creates a dish that can be both casual and elegant.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F) or the oven to 400°F.
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. For grilling, place the chicken on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. For oven baking, place the chicken in a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired and serve warm.
