Description
These Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks are the ultimate solution for busy weeknight dinners. With their crispy skin and juicy meat, reminiscent of classic shake and bake chicken, they bring flavor and satisfaction to the table without the hassle of deep frying.
Ingredients
Scale:
8 chicken drumsticks, preferably organic or free-range
1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup homemade seasoned breadcrumbs (or store-bought)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss until evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
In a shallow dish, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using). Dredge each marinated drumstick in the breadcrumb mixture.
Place the coated drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through.
Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
