Air-fried glazed chicken thighs are not only delicious but also a healthier alternative to traditional frying. This dish combines succulent chicken thighs with a sweet and savory glaze that caramelizes perfectly in the air fryer, providing a crispy exterior while keeping the meat juicy on the inside.
2 tablespoons soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier alternative)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 5 minutes.
Air fry the chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the excess. Arrange the thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side up.
Cook: Air fry the chicken thighs for 25-30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Flip them halfway through.
Glaze the chicken: In the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the chicken thighs with some of the reserved marinade.
Serve: Once done, let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
